Mayor of Marbella arrested
Once again a Mayor of Marbella is arrested.
Along with 20 others, Marisol Yagüe was arrested on Wednesday in a Police operation against corruption in Marbella.
Half of the arrests were made in Marbella and the rest in Madrid and Murcia.
The casse was about corruption connected to town planning and laundering of money. Other charges include embezzlement, bribery and influence peddling.
On Wednesday the police searched 27 properties including municipal offices, private residences and business premises.
320 officers took part in Wednesday’s operation at the town hall and town planning office where police ceased boxes of documents and computers.
Tomás Reñones a councillor and former Atlético de Madrid footballer is now acting mayor. Residents ar calling for the resignation of Marisol Yagüe.
